John Smith

John guides entrepreneurs on their journey to build successful B2B SaaS businesses.
John has over 30 years of experience founding and building software businesses, taking them from scratch to over $100M in annual revenue.
John has consistently been driving innovation in the B2B software space. He is passionate about building world-class software businesses with his proven results of over 30 years building high performing organizations and high growth businesses in the IT Management industry.
Prior to leading the B2B software practice at Innosphere Ventures, John was the SVP & General Manager, Enterprise Management Business Unit at CA Technologies. John was responsible for over 15 product lines in the infrastructure management and application management portfolio of products.
Prior to joining CA Technologies, John led product development at Nimsoft where he created Nimsoft on Demand enabling the transformation to a SaaS business model and a focus on ease of use resulting in high business growth.
He previously spent several years at HP as a member of the management team that established the HP OpenView business and was instrumental in streamlining the product delivery lifecycle and bringing new products to market. At Agilent Technologies, a spinoff from HP, he founded and was co-General Manager of Firehunter, the company’s internet service management business. He also founded Indicative Software Inc., a leader in business service management.
John earned a BS in Computer Science at Colorado State University, where he also received an MBA degree.

Mike has led the formation of Innosphere Ventures Fund I and Fund II which invests in outstanding technical founders in the Mid-America Mountain Plains region.
Mike has spent his career at the intersection of entrepreneurship, finance, and economic development in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Over the last decade, Mike has been the CEO of Innosphere Ventures where he’s worked with thousands of startup founders in B2B SaaS, Cleantech and Medtech sectors, providing them with business support around technology commercialization and venture capital.
Mike has built up Innosphere’s brand and stature and expanded its operations around the Mid-America Mountain Plains region by connecting with top research universities and ecosystem builders. Mike is committed to building and growing the technology ecosystem in the Mountain Plains region and contributing to overall U.S. competitiveness and innovation. The U.S. has a unique opportunity to sharpen its focus on the commercialization of Cleantech and Medtech, and Innosphere Ventures is committed to supporting and playing this role.
Previously, Mr. Freeman served as the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Fort Collins, CO. Fort Collins has a population of 140,000, a total budget of nearly $500 million, and is a full-service City including a municipal electric utility. Mike was responsible for all Innosphere operations, finances, strategy and execution.
